Fossil Creek March 31 2018

We met at dad's house, took I-17 to Camp Verde.  Then the Fossil Creek Road to Fossil Creek.  It's a pretty long drive, maybe 30 miles.  The road was well-maintained but very wash-boarded.  One could definitely take a passenger car on this road, but it would be hard on the suspension.

We drove all the way to as far as you can go up the road, and all of the furthest in parking areas were full.  (This seems to be a really popular picnic spot; there were lots of families.)

We back-tracked to the bridge area where there was still plenty of parking.  It's a short walk to the bridge, and several groups of people were hanging out enjoying the beautiful creek and pleasant weather.  Harry flew his drone a little.  There were some dogs; one of them loved the water and was retrieving objects.

One the way back out, we stopped at a very unique spot.  There are two pointy hills, and the road runs right between them.  There is a trailhead from this spot, too.  Harry flew the drone to get some photography of the unique landscape, and the rest of us relaxed.

On to Camp Verde, lunch at a pretty good Mexican restaurant, then home to Phoenix.  Another great trip!!
