Good early start, all of us in Harry's truck.
Gas in Camp Verde, and this time we kept going!
Stoneman Lake Road, then some other roads to the Secret Pottery Place. It's a long way. There were cows.
From the main road, we all walked in the quarter mile or so to the pottery area. It's kind of a creek area, and is JUST LITTERED with pottery shards, some it quite varied and interesting. Harry went back and brought the truck in a little farther, and then we all had a couple of hours of NIRVANA for people who appreciate Indian artifacts.
We examined hundred of pieces, including some very nice examples of texture and paint. No arrowheads or stone implements, alas.
Lunch under a nice shady tree, but even at the comparatively higher altitude it was starting to warm up. So we headed back down to town, and got home early enough so there was a little of the day left.
Another great trip, this area is super!!
